Point breakdown
What this is. The CAIDE (Cardiovascular Risk Factors, Aging and Dementia) score is a published, peer-reviewed risk instrument developed from a 20-year longitudinal Finnish cohort study and externally replicated in several other populations. It was designed to estimate dementia risk from factors measured in midlife (roughly ages 40–65); its accuracy outside that age range, or in populations very different from the original cohort, has not been established to the same degree. The APOE ε4 extension uses point weights reported in a later replication study and is optional, since genotype is often unknown.
This is an educational tool, not a diagnostic or clinical instrument. It does not diagnose dementia or Alzheimer's disease, cannot account for your full individual medical history, and should never replace a conversation with a physician. If you have concerns about memory or cognitive health, please speak with a doctor.
